Prayer Partner Letter

spacerspacerDear Prayer Partner:

Christianity is the only way of life known to man whereby we gain everything by giving all; become victorious by surrender; rise higher by kneeling; dominate by submitting.

In this issues we pursue the way to deeper knowledge of God. It is said (Tozer), "The way to such is through the lonely valley of soul poverty and abnegation of all things" ... to deny, surrender, relinquish every eternal thing ... to remove from the heart all sense of possessing. My encouragement in such a pursuit is Matthew 16:25, "Whosoever shall lose . . . for my sake shall find." With Paul I would say, "Having nothing, I have everything." Jesus said, "Theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Often I read "The Pursuit of God" by A. W. Tozer. May the excerpt from his book found in this issue be motivating to our hearts to have the thirst of the Psalmist, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God." (Psalm 42:1)

I give thanks to the many of you who e-mailed us last month. I am most encouraged in this ministry.
Sincerely in the closet,

W. Clyde Martin
