How many times have we been present at a prayer or praise service when anyone who had a testimony for the Lord was invited to share it?  And how many times have we sat through a long, deafening silence, waiting for "someone" to speak a word of praise?  Someone?  How many times have we ourselves felt a strong urge to speak but stubbornly quieted the desire until the opportunity passed? The Scripture says. "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.  "Why, then, do the Redeemed so often deprive ourselves and others of a blessing and grieve the heart of our Father by keeping our praise locked inside behind closed lips?  Is it fear that what we have to share would be boring to others, or stupid? Or fear it would not have interest or value to anyone else; or fear of speaking publicly?  Or worse, of appearing insincere or "holier-than-thou" to some sensitive soul?  Or is it that suddenly we find ourselves searching frantically for something to share, something that would be a worthy testimony to the goodness of the Lord?  After all, just what is a testimony??  A testimony very simply, is telling what you know about something from personal experience or involvement.  So when we have an opportunity to speak a word of praise , we are simply to tell what the Lord has done for us. It needn't be stupendous or news-worthy.  Just tell something He has done for us.  For me.  When I was tempted, did He give me grace and strength to overcome the temptation or did He comfort me when my heart was aching. or lift a burden too heavy for me to bear, or speak sweet peace to my troubled spirit. Did He forgive me when I had gone astray, or when I had been thoughtless and careless and hurt someone? Did He see me or someone dear to me through a crisis? Did He work one of His everyday miracles in my life, bringing joy for sadness, sunshine for gloom, hope for despair?  Did He give me the blessed privilege of introducing someone to the Savior, and watching Heaven's light break across a countenance ,and shine out of enlightened eyes, and a happy smile curve lips that speak- "He saved me."     Someone needs to be encouraged and strengthened by hearing how the Lord moves and works in your life.   Someone is saying, "Tell me what the Lord has done.'

 Romans 8:28

Tell me what the Lord has done.

Did He help you through a crisis,

Did He give to you a song?

Did you taste His sweet forgiveness

When you knew that you'd done wrong?

Did He flood your soul with mercy;

Was He with you all day long?

Tell me what the Lord has done.

Did the Lord restore your courage

When you thought all hope was gone?

Did He give you Peace and Comfort

And the Strength to carry on?

Did He whisper, "I am with you"

When you thought you were alone?

Tell me what the Lord has done.

Did you cheer a lonely Traveler,

Did you share his pain and loss?

Did you tell him of the Solace

To be found at Calvary's cross?

Did you see Him meet the Savior

Who gives gold for  useless dross?

Tell me what the Lord has done.

Tell me what the Lord has done;

Tell me of the vict'ries  won.

Tell me of the Power and the grace

With which He moves.

Tell me what the Lord has done.
