Editor's Note: I often file pages from the journals of Pastors and great prayer warriors. Here is a page from one great pastor of our day, Dr. Vander Warner, Jr. In his journal of '92 December he wrote:
“Dear Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. I speak it reverently, not thoughtlessly, but in hope and awe. Lord, I bless you and praise you for who and what you are. Be love unto me and mine.
Thy kingdom come. Lord, I yield to you as the ruler of my life. I wish to serve under and in your kingdom - under your dominion. Let thy rule take place. Thy will be done. That is the decree of my will - that your will come to be on earth here and now as it is in heaven - which is the way to have heaven on earth! I am to trust in you with all my heart and lean not unto my own understanding - in all my ways I will acknowledge you (act on the knowledge) and expect and trust you to direct my path. Dear God, Son, Holy Spirit, this is my heart’s desire - I want nothing like I want to know and do and know that I have done your will. Thy will be done!
“Give me this day my daily bread. Father, you are providing for me so well provisions for this day. I will not fret about tomorrow.
“Father, in Jesus name, please move to get my house in Hendersonville sold - what a relief that would be.* Give me wisdom in financial planning.
“Forgive me my trespasses, Lord, as I by an act of my consecrated will forgive others. Without you I cannot do it. Thank you for the sweet, strong, enabling power to forgive.
“Lead me not into temptation for I am weak and without help apart from and in obedience to thy Word. But deliver me from evil. i.e., protect from the surprises of evil around the corners and behind the hedges of life. Father, I want your protection from the enemy.
· For thine is the kingdom...yours, Oh Lord, is the rulership.
· And the power
· And the glory, forever. In Jesus name, Amen. And may I never forget who owns the glory!
“Father, I bow inwardly through the prayer above. Do unveil yourself to me - I am a desperate man.

“*The prayer above concerning this financial need was answered, on December 30th, i.e. I heard about it. On my answering machine was Jimmy (my real-estate agent) telling me of an offer.
Father, I’ve got you to thank for that.
I will, yes, I will bless you at all times!”
